In the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, the Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has donated N80 million cash to the leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Zamfara North and Central Senatorial Zones.
He made the donation while receiving party faithful at his residence in Maradun Local Government Area of the state.
Matawalle, who served as Governor of Zamfara State between 2019 and 2023, arrived in his hometown on Friday evening after observing Eid prayers alongside President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other top government officials at the Dodan Barracks Eid praying ground in Lagos.
While receiving the APC leaders from the eight local government areas that form the two senatorial districts, the minister admonished them to remain peaceful, respect constituted authorities, and continue to support the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The local government areas that form Zamfara North and Central Senatorial Districts are Kaura Namoda, Birnin Magaji, Shinkafi, Zurmi, Tsafe, Maru, Bungudu, and Gusau.
Dr Matawalle tasked them to remain focused and have faith in the APC, as leaders at the state level are committed to making the party stronger and more united. He called for unity among party faithful, especially as preparations for the 2027 general elections are in top gear. He used the occasion to thank the people of Zamfara State for their continuous prayers, which he said have gradually brought an end to banditry and other heinous crimes.
The minister is expected to meet with other political groups, stakeholders, and party officials as he spends his Sallah break in his hometown, Maradun.
Leaders of the entourage, Alhaji Tukur Danfulani Maikatako, the APC State Chairman, and the State Vice Chairman of the party, Liman Gabdon Kaura, thanked the minister for being a leader with focus and a heart of gold. The duo described Matawalle as a father to all who does not discriminate.
