I Tried Lululemon’s New Summer Arrivals

I spend a considerable amount of time buying things online. While it’s technically a part of my job as a shopping writer, I can truthfully say it’s actually equal parts work and pleasure for me. Still, even I can admit that shopping in a store offers the most personal experience, especially when it comes to finding the best-fitting clothes. That’s why I went to Lululemon and tried on its new arrivals for myself. Anyone who’s a fan of the activewear brand knows its sizing can be complicated, so  not only did I figure out my actual size there, I also got the chance to see what was actually worth buying from the summer collection. I tried everything you can imagine from shorts to tank tops, sneakers, and even socks. After an hour in the fitting room, I narrowed it down to six cart-worthy picks starting at $58. Shake It Out High-Rise Running Shorts

The Fast and Free shorts offer the ideal combination of comfort and support. The lightweight material easily moves with your body whether you’re squatting, jumping, or jogging in them — and, yes, I tested them out doing all of those things in the fitting room. The shorts stay in place thanks to a snug elastic waistband. The 2.5-inch bottoms are made with a built-in liner, for additional coverage.  

FlexyFlex Strappy Yoga Bra Light Support

The FlexyFlex Bra won’t disappoint if you want a classic sports bra with a bit of stylish flair. It features a stylish strappy back design that stays out of the way while you move. Plus, the soft brushed fabric feels smooth against the skin, and is designed to wick away sweat. I suggest going one size up, though, if you don’t want a super compressive fit. Sweat-wicking fabric meets a loose fit and overlapping back panels for easy air to flow. The open back felt a bit awkward at first, but you’re bound to appreciate it when it gets extra hot out.

Pace Crush Cross-Back Graphic T-Shirt

You can’t go wrong with a versatile shirt like the $58 Pace Crush Cross-Back T-Shirt. The boxy shape is loose, comfortable, and easy to throw on for workouts, errands, or just lounging around. The breathable, thin material makes it a great layering piece, too. 

Align Side-Slit Cami Strap Dress

There are many details to love about the Align Side-Slit Cami Strap Dress: its buttery soft fabric, classic silhouette, and extremely versatile design are just a few. A true one-and-done outfit, it is made with a built-in sports bra and biker shorts, providing support and coverage. I do wish the waist area had more of a smoothing effect, and if you have a larger chest, keep in mind you may want to wear your own bra underneath this to prevent boob spillage.
