Kohli decided to step away from his teamamtes with the trophy and asked Mayanti to touch the trophy.
“my husband played for RCB and lost the 2016 Final. I’m a Bengaluru girl, Virat Kohli let me touch the IPL trophy. I cannot believe it,” said Mayanti on Star Sports after the heartwarming exchange.
“Grateful that@RCBTweetsincluded us in this special moment. that was a nod to the 2016 team, I was only the messenger,” she wrote on X.
Stuart, a pace-bowling all-rounder, who played in all three formats for India also featued in 22 matches for RCB over a period of two years between 2016 and 2017. He scored 141 runs and took five wickets for the franchise.
Intrestingly, Stuart is the son of 1983 World Cup-winner Roger Binny, who is also the current BCCI President. Stuart and Mayanti married each other in 2012 and parents to a son, who was born in 2022.
