A national recall is underway for a Cabot Creamery caramel and cheddar popcorn blend, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Friday.
Jody’s Inc., the popcorn’s producer, initiated the recall after being notified of two customer complaints of peanuts found inside the bag—which are not listed as an allergen.
The undeclared peanuts now pose the risk of serious or potentially life-threatening allergic reactions for people with an allergy or sensitivity to peanuts.
The recalled popcorn can be identified with the following:
- Product name: Cabot Creamery Sea Salt Caramel Cheddar Popcorn
- Size: 6 oz, or 170 g
- UPC: 8 50016 94430 6
- Lot Code: 2519907B1
- Expiration Date: July 15, 2026
Jody’s Inc. distributed the popcorn on July 23, 2025—it was sent to distribution centers in 12 states, then shipped to retailers across the U.S.

According to the FDA, customers who have the recalled popcorn should return it or throw it away, even if you can consume peanuts.
