Nissan Brings Back The Sedan Spirit With N6 And Teana – Here Are The Details
In an automotive world where SUVs dominate the roads, Nissan has made a bold move by unveiling not just one, but two brand-new sedans which are the N6 and the Teana. These cars are a proof that sedans still hold a special place in the hearts of auto enthusiasts, especially in markets like China, where the classic three-box car design continues to be loved.
The two new models were launched as part of Nissan’s major “Re:Nissan” recovery plan which is an effort not just to cut costs but also to refresh the brand with exciting new vehicles. While countries like the US might not get these models, they show Nissan’s continued commitment to diversity in its global lineup.

The Nissan N6 is a plug-in hybrid sedan, built in collaboration with Dongfeng Nissan which is the brand’s Chinese partner. It features a 1.5-liter petrol engine combined with an electric motor and a 21.1 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery, which is said to be the largest in its class. This setup promises strong performance and impressive efficiency which is ideal for urban commuters who want the best of both electric and petrol power.
Meanwhile, the Nissan Teana is a more premium offering based on the familiar Altima. It has a sleek, modern design that looks quite similar to European sedans like the Peugeot 508. Under the hood, it is powered by Nissan’s VC-Turbo engine which is a unique motor that can adjust its compression ratio to balance power and fuel efficiency.
While Chinese buyers can look forward to these models soon, Americans might not get these. Reports suggest that the US-spec Altima will be discontinued after 2026 which will leave the Sentra as Nissan’s only sedan in North America.
Both the N6 and Teana will go on sale in China by the end of this year. For Nissan, these cars represent more than just new models, but they are a reminder that the sedan isn’t dead yet. It’s evolving and becoming cleaner, smarter and more stylish than ever.
