Trump had previously drawn criticism for his comments on White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt’s appearance.

US President Donald Trump has ignited controversy once again with his remarks toward a female journalist during a press event with Argentine President Javier Milei. In a video going viral online, Trump can be seen pointing toward a female reporter and inviting her to ask a question during a White House briefing.
The reporter asks Trump: “As China deepens its presence in Latin America, what role do you see for the US?”
However, instead of answering, Trump turns to US Vice President JD Vance and remarks, “I just like to watch her talk.” The two laugh and then Trump says, “Good job. Good job. Thank you, darling.”
Trump praises Karoline Leavitt‘s lips again
This is not the first time such remarks from Trump have caused controversy. On Monday evening, the US president gushed about White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt’s lips for the second time. The president was speaking with reporters after his victory lap trip to Israel and Egypt after signing his peace deal alongside Western and Arab leaders.
“How’s Karoline doing? Is she doing good?” Trump asked reporters, seemingly unprompted. “Should Karoline be replaced?” he followed up.
A reporter replied, “That’s up to you, sir.”
“It’ll never happen. That face… and those lips,” Trump said. “They move like a machine gun, right?”
The president made a similar comment about Leavitt’s facial features in August. “She’s become a star,” he told Newsmax. “It’s that face. It’s that brain. It’s those lips, the way they move. They move like she’s a machine gun.”
Notably, another awkward video that drew attention earlier this week was Donald Trump’s attempt to compliment Italian PM Giorgia Meloni.
During his speech at Sharm El-Sheikh Trump said, “We have a woman, a young woman who…I’m not allowed to say it because it’s usually the end of your political career if you say she’s a beautiful young woman,” Trump said. “If you use the word ‘beautiful’ in the United States about a woman, that’s the end of your political career, but I’ll take my chances.”
The US president then turned back to address Meloni and said, “You don’t mind being called beautiful, right? Because you are.”
