After leading the New England Patriots to a 23-20 upset win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football, star receiver Stefon Diggs admitted that the victory was deeper for him.
When asked if Sunday night’s game against his former Bills team was personal, Diggs responded, “100 percent.”
Diggs, who starred in Buffalo from 2020 to 2023, and Bills quarterback Josh Allen embraced on the field following the hard-fought matchup between AFC East rivals:
Diggs led the Patriots with 10 catches for 146 yards in the victory. New England kicker Andy Borregales connected on a 52-yard field goal with 15 seconds left in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Diggs’ relationship with the Bills was visibly strained toward the end of his tenure in Buffalo, but it’s clear that he still has a lot of respect for the franchise. He was named to the Pro Bowl in all four of his years with the team.
After making a statement with Sunday night’s victory, Diggs and the Patriots will look to keep the momentum going when they visit the New Orleans Saints in Week 6.
