Patna: Poll strategist-turned-politician and founder of the Jan Suraaj Party (JSP), Prashant Kishor, has made seven big promises to the people of Bihar that his party will deliver in the very first month if elected to power in the state.
Bihar is set to witness high-stakes Assembly elections in October–November, though the dates are yet to be announced.
Speaking exclusively with Times Now Group Editor-in-Chief Navika Kumar, Prashant Kishor outlined seven major promises he will fulfil if his party is elected to power in Bihar.
- The very first promise Prashant Kishor made is that he will lift the liquor ban within hours of being elected to power. He claimed that although liquor is banned in the state, it is still being delivered illegally.
- The second promise is that his government will provide Rs 2,000 per month to people, including men, women, widows, and specially-abled individuals over 60 years of age, so that they can manage some basic needs of life.
- Third, a new department will be set up for relief and rehabilitation, which will work to provide employment to those who have been forced to migrate from the state in search of work, within a year.
- In every village, people will be asked to send their children to private schools until the condition of government schools is improved, and their fees will be borne by the government.
- People engaged in farming of cash crops will be declared labour-free under MNREGA.
- Those who wish to become self-reliant and set up a livelihood will be able to get loans at an interest rate of just 4 percent, instead of the current 10–12 percent.
And lastly, Prashant Kishor said they have prepared a list of 100 of the most corrupt politicians and officials. A special court will be set up, and a new law will be enacted under which these corrupt leaders will be tried, and all unaccounted money held by them or their families will be seized and added to state funds.
Prashant Kishor once again claimed that his party, if elected to power, will deliver these promises within the first 100 days and if they fail to do so, they will resign.
