Harley-Davidson India Prices Increase Under New GST Regime
The revised GST structure has brought mixed fortunes for motorcycle buyers in India. While sub-350cc motorcycles have become more affordable, larger-capacity models have gone in the opposite direction. Premium motorcycle brands, including Harley-Davidson, have been directly impacted, with most of their line-up witnessing a notable price hike.
The only exception is the entry-level Harley-Davidson X440, which retains its existing ex-showroom price of Rs 2.39 lakh. This makes the X440 the most accessible option in the brand’s portfolio, unaffected by the new tax slabs.
Every other model from the American motorcycle maker now comes at a higher cost, with the increase ranging up to Rs 3.45 lakh depending on the model. Below is the revised price list:
- Street Glide: Rs 42.50 lakh (up from Rs 39.30 lakh)
- Road Glide: Rs 45.75 lakh (up from Rs 42.30 lakh)
- Street Bob: Rs 20.23 lakh (up from Rs 18.77 lakh)
- Breakout: Rs 34.36 lakh (up from Rs 31.79 lakh)
- Fat Boy: Rs 28.03 lakh (up from Rs 25.90 lakh)
- Heritage Classic: Rs 25.71 lakh (up from Rs 23.85 lakh)
- Pan America 1250 Special: Rs 27.16 lakh (up from Rs 25.10 lakh)
- Nightster: Rs 14.54 lakh (up from Rs 13.51 lakh)
- Nightster Special: Rs 15.38 lakh (up from Rs 14.29 lakh)
- Sportster S: Rs 18.50 lakh (up from Rs 16.70 lakh)
The hike is significant for Harley-Davidson’s touring range, with the Street Glide and Road Glide both crossing the Rs 40 lakh mark. The Breakout, Fat Boy, and Heritage Classic also see increases of more than Rs 2 lakh each. In the middleweight segment, the Nightster, Nightster Special, and Sportster S now command between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 1.8 lakh more than before. Even the adventure-focused Pan America 1250 Special has climbed by over Rs 2 lakh.
This means that while Harley-Davidson continues to offer a relatively accessible starting point with the X440, the premium touring and cruiser models are now more expensive than ever. The changes underline the impact of the GST 2.0 regime, which has widened the gap between mass-market motorcycles and larger displacement premium offerings.
