Louis Partridge has the kind of Disney prince hair guys show photos of to their barbers. It has that easy floppiness, the slight curl, the shape through the front, the deep and glossy color.
But, as anyone who has ever gone through the process of growing their hair out knows, it can get a little annoying day-to-day. When it’s not styled with products or freshly washed, those longer layers through the front are usually getting in your eyes or making your forehead greasy. Gross!
Partridge, spotted off-duty before a talk show appearance, has found a solution, though: the humble headband. While on his way to appear on Late Night With Seth Meyers to promote House of Guinness, Partridge was spotted with his hair pushed back and secured with a dark headband, giving him some height, but keeping things neat.
Aeon
This is the move that David Beckham reigned with in 2003, when he had his bright blonde pushed back to show off the diamond earrings. Partridge’s version is slightly lower-key. It has a more casual vibe, like he pinched the band off his girlfriend Olivia Rodrigo on the way out the door. And, maybe crucially, it’s more of a means to an end: an hour or so later, he was filming an interview with his hair perfectly coiffed and set.
If you’re feeling influenced, we have good news: this hairstyle is as easy as they come. First pick a band that roughly matches your hair color (or go for contrast if you’re feeling frisky). Start with the band tucked behind your ears and over your face, then slowly push it back through your hair until it sits right at the top. Then—and this is important—push it back in the other direction, towards your face. This will give it that bit of height that Partridge has, and gives it some shape.
Or, do it the Beckham way and add in a ponytail. We’re sure Louis would be into that, too.
