President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of a new Director-General and members of the management team for the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), marking what officials describe as a decisive step toward revitalizing the national broadcaster.
In a statement issued on Friday by Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Segun Imohiosen, the President named Rotimi Pedro from the South-West as the new Director-General of the NTA.
Karimah Bello from the North-West was appointed Executive Director of Marketing, while Stella Din Jacob from the North-Central was named Executive Director of News.
In addition, Sophia Essahmed from the North-East will serve as Managing Director of NTA Enterprises Limited.
President Tinubu urged the new leadership team to work in unity toward repositioning the NTA, emphasizing the need to infuse innovation into the agency to ensure more effective service delivery.
The latest appointments are part of a broader government drive to strengthen state-owned media organizations and ensure they remain both competitive and relevant in Nigeria’s fast-changing media environment.
