The 2025 edition of the very successful Africa Fashion Week London was a blast. That is the simplest way to describe it. It marked the 15th anniversary of the annual extravaganza that has been a platform for showcasing the panache and creativity of African fashion, culture, and creativity on the global stage. AFWL 2025 was grand as it always been.
The event, held over two days (August 9 and 10) at Space House in London, featured four catwalk showcases that highlighted the best of African designers as well as an Adire Festival that showcased the the latest fabric designs from the Adire Oodua Textile Hub and Ijebu traditional parade on runway.
There was also a tribute to African fashion icons and over 30 African-heritage fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands, where visitors to the show could browse and shop.
The second day of the event began with workshops and talks by industry experts on the future of African fashion, before the next runway sessions took over and held the audience spellbound with the exciting and memorable catwalk styles of the models.
