Dricus Du Plessis’ coach is far from threatened by Khamzat Chimaev’s game.

Du Plessis (23-2 MMA, 9-0 UFC) defends his middleweight title against undefeated phenom Chimaev (14-0 MMA, 8-0 UFC) in Saturday’s UFC 319 (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+) headliner at United Center in Chicago.

Du Plessis’ head coach, Morne Visser, is confident that his star student can beat Chimaev at his own game.

“Khamzat doesn’t know what it is when people want to wrestle him,” Visser during the “UFC 319 Countdown” video. “He’s only facing guys who are trying to get away from his wrestling. We don’t want to try and get away from his wrestling, we want to f*ck him up in his game.”

Visser went as far as chastising Chimaev’s standup, comparing it to one of an amateur’s. Chimaev has six professional wins by knockout.

“You can’t think that you’re going to beat my guy coming with one thing, and that’s wrestling,” Visser said. “That guy is one-dimensional. Have you seen his standup? I wouldn’t even give him a pro license for his sh*t standup. He doesn’t present any problem for us. We are the problem.”
