First Lady of Nigeria Oluremi Tinubu has extended heartfelt condolences on the death of Doyin Abiola, a revered journalist and trailblazer in the Nigerian media landscape.
In a condolence message, Mrs Tinubu described Abiola as a “distinguished journalist, media icon, and trailblazing Nigerian woman,” whose contributions to the growth of journalism and the media industry in Nigeria are deeply significant.
“Dr Doyin Abiola carved a path of excellence and courage for many Nigerian women in media and public service,” the First Lady said. “Her legacy of professionalism will continue to inspire all who believe in the power of the written word and the vital role of the press in nation-building.”
She prayed for comfort and peace for Dr Abiola’s family, friends, and the media community. “May Almighty God grant her eternal rest and comfort her family and friends on this irreplaceable loss,” Senator Tinubu added.
The First Lady concluded her message with a touching farewell: “Goodnight, Auntie Doyin. May her soul rest in peace.”
