’26 four-star shooting guard Jenica Lewis has narrowed her recruitment to five finalists. Lewis announced the news on Twitter, with Iowa, North Carolina, Notre Dame, TCU and Oregon making the cut. She is rated as the #17 player in the country by Rivals, while she is the #21 player in the Rivals Industry Rankings.
“Where’s home?” Lewis said in her Twitter post.
“Definitely just how people coach,” Lewis told On3’s Talia Goodman in a recent article. “Coaching and playing style are big. Just honestly, I love how coaches just get to know the student even off the court — just having a good relationship. Honestly, teammates matter a lot to me and just how they connect with each other. I don’t really like groups and sections and friend groups, and I just enjoy being as one.”
Playing for the All Iowa Attack EYBL team this summer, Jenica averaged 14.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game, while shooting 35.7% (61/171) from three-point range. She knocked down 3+ threes in 14 of 21 games this summer.
This past season at Johnston, Lewis averaged 18.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 3.4 assists per game. She shot 46.6% from the floor, 34.8% from three-point range and 87.5% from the free throw line. The Dragons finished with an undefeated 26-0 record, winning the 5A State Title for the second consecutive season, while Lewis put up 16 points in the semifinal (vs Centennial) and 12 points (vs Dowling) in the championship game.
