Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette has been reliable for his entire career, except for 2024. The 5-foot-11-inch, 190-pounder slashed just. 225/.277/.322 with four homers and 31 RBI in 81 games in an injury-shortened campaign, but he’s back to his usual self this season.
Bichette is slashing .281/.321/.448 with 13 homers and 59 RBI over 99 games this year, which is more in line with his career averages. The 27-year-old owns a .289/.330/.464 career slash line while averaging 15 homers and 57 RBI per 101 games.
Bichette, who is currently on an expiring contract, spoke about his future after Wednesday’s 8-4 win over the New York Yankees, via MLB.com’s Keegan Matheson.
“My priorities have always been to win, to be part of an organization that has that same goal in mind, and I want to play in an exciting environment. We’re checking all those boxes,” the two-time All-Star said. “It’s a special time right now, and the fans are definitely making their case known.”
Bichette currently leads Toronto with 117 hits, which also ranks third in baseball. New York Yankees superstar Aaron Judge is first with 129, and Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner has 119.

The Blue Jays selected Bichette No. 66 overall in the 2016 MLB Draft out of Florida’s Lakewood High School. He then made his big-league debut in July 2019.
Bichette was the AL hit leader in 2021 and 2022 and made the All-Star team in 2021 and 2023. The veteran has hit at least .290 every season except 2024.
