    From Ndubuisi Orji, Abuja

Ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Executive Committee (NEC) 101st meeting, scheduled for Thursday, a group of stakeholders from the South East have moved against the National Vice Chairman in the zone, Chief Ali Odefa.

The group, on the aegies of the South East PDP Stakeholders said Odefa cannot longer represent the South East PDP, as he is allegedly no longer a member of the opposition party, and therefore cannot continue to represent the zone in the National Working Committee ( NWC).

The South East PDP Stakeholders, who spoke through Seprebofa Oyeghe, told journalists, in Abuja that that Egwu Goodluck is the duly nominated National Vice Chairman of the South East zone.

Oyeghe stated that there is a judgement of a Federal High Court, Abakaliki Division, which allegedly restrained Odefa from participating in the activities of the PDP, which is yet to be upturned by a superior court.

According to him, a separate judgment has also affirmed Egwu as the PDP national vice chairman, South East. Consequently, Oyeghe called on the PDP national secretariat, as well as the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) to grant Egwu the necessary recognition.

Oyeghe said “the South East PDP stakeholders hereby call on the national leadership of the PDP, INEC, security agencies, media organizations, and the general public to respect and uphold the rule of law by recognizing only Egwu Chidebere Goodluck as the lawfully installed and judicially affirmed & substantive National Vice Chairman (South East).

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to due process, party discipline, and constitutional governance. The PDP in the South East will continue to operate on the foundations of legality, legitimacy, and democratic principles.”
