Kano State Judicial Service Commission has approved the demotion of a Court Registrar for forgery and falsification of affidavits of service.
A statement issued by the spokesperson of the Kano State Judicial Service Commission, Jibo Ibrahim on Sunday night explained that the sanction was approved at the 84th Meeting of the Commission held on Friday, 18th July 2025.
According to the statement, the Commission reviewed the findings of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission regarding a Court Registrar Adamu Salisu , a Registrar attached to the High Court, who was found to have falsified affidavits of service and non-service, forged the signature of a bailiff and unlawfully signed documents as a Commissioner for Oaths.
“Upon his appearance before the Commission and admission of guilt, he was found liable for gross misconduct” said the statement.

“After careful deliberation the Commission demoted the officer by one grade level, from Grade Level 13 to Grade Level 12″.
The culprit, said the statement, was subsequently removed from his position as the Registrar in charge of High Court No. 13 and issued a strong warning to desist from any further unethical conduct or influencing others to commit similar acts.
The statement also reported that one Yusuf Ayuba, a clerical Assistant attached to High Court , has been demoted for absenting himself from his duty post without justification for four months.
