Will Conor McGregor finally make his long-awaited UFC return at the White House?
U.S. president Donald Trump proposed the UFC host an event at the White House on July 4, 2026. UFC CEO Dana White said he plans on putting a “badass” card for the event, but will the sport’s biggest star be a part of it?
McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) hasn’t fought since July 2021, but continued to express interest in returning at the White House.
“I’m in this as owner until I can clear my slate,” McGregor said during Thursday’s BKFC Champions Summit press conference. “It’s looking like I’m heading to the Oval Office again, so that’s where I’m heading next.”
White was asked about the possibility of McGregor competing in Washington D.C.
“McGregor has gotten himself to a point where he is and will be, whether he stops fighting or not, one of the biggest superstars in sports, period,” White said on the Full Send Podcast. “He’s gotten to a level of success in his life that he has to, I think, be motivated by something. He’s accomplished everything, and especially financially. Now he’s got to find something that truly motivates him to want to come back and do this again. I don’t know if the White House is it, but we’ll see.”
