Galatasaray have suffered a major setback in its efforts to recruit Victor Osimhen permanently from Napoli.
This comes after Napoli turned down Osimhen’s release clause of €75 million.
Onyebuchi Onokala, a Nigerian broadcast journalist better known as Buchi Laba, revealed this in a post on X.
According to him, the Serie A winners rejected Galatasaray’s €75 million third bid for the 26-year-old, which met the player’s official release clause.
He tweeted in the early hours of Thursday morning: “Napoli officially turns down Galatasaray’s €75 million third offer for Victor Osimhen.” “The official Release Clause Figure.”
Buchi Laba went on to say that Napoli is deliberately sabotaging the deal in order to push Osimhen to the Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal.
However, Osimhen has already said unequivocally that he will not be moving to Al Hilal and instead wishes to join Galatasaray on a permanent basis.
The Super Eagles striker has also made it very clear to Napoli that he won’t report for the club’s pre-season starting this month as he doesn’t want to play for Antonio Conte’s side anymore.
