UFC Legend Daniel Cormier Makes Big Announcement on Future MMA Plans originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

UFC legend Daniel Cormier is one of the most famous and recognizable names in the history of the fight league and the sport of mixed martial arts whose rivalry with Jon “Bones” Jones made him a household name across the United States.

Cormier, who transitioned from wrestling to mixed martial arts in 2009 and began his career with Strikeforce, won his first 15 MMA fights before losing to Jones in January 2015, setting off one of the biggest rivalries in UFC history.

Cormier’s career included a King of the Cage heavyweight championship, 2012 Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix championship, and UFC Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight titles, which he held simultaneously.

On Sunday, Cormier made an announcement on his X page that made waves as fans reacted under the original post.

“Hey guys I have a question. The Ultimate Fighter has really sparked my coaching passion. I’ve started a fight team!

“On the team do I want my name associated with it or do I want to be something stand alone from me?”

“Like not have my logos associated with the team?” Cormier asked on X.

Cormier coached on ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ during the show’s 27th season which was titled, ‘The Ultimate Fighter: Undefeated” against former UFC champion Stipe Miocic.

“You have an amazing legacy, I think it’s well deserved if its name is your name,” one fan said.

“Just make a cool team and let the results speak for itself,” another fan added.

“DC MMA is the brand! Unless you get sued by the DC comics…” another fan said in the comments.
