Kannappa vs Maa Movie Review Live Updates: Box office this weekend is seeing a clash of the titans. Kajol’s first horror film Maa is pitted against Vishnu Manchu’s multi-starrer Kannappa. Both aim at pan-India reach with releases in multiple languages. Maa, a part of Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan’s Shaitaan universe, will offer a blend of spook and mythology, whereas Kannappa is based on a real story of an atheist turned Shiva devotee.
While the Hindi market seems to be more favourable towards Maa, the Telugu box office is expected to be dominated by Kannappa. The former is directed by Vishal Furia, known for the Chhorii franchise, and the latter is helmed by Mukesh Kumar Singh. Kannappa marks Akshay Kumar’s Telugu debut. Maa is an addition to the Shaitaan universe, which will expand further over the years.
Maa, co-starring Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Kherin Sharma, is backed by Jio Studios and Devgn Films. It belongs to Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan’s Shaitaan universe. Kannappa is Mukesh Kumar Singh’s take on a real-life story of a Shiva devotee.
