Ahead of the second match of the Test series against England, India’s young pacer Harshit Rana has been released from the squad. As per the Times of India report, the young speedster, who was called up as a precautionary measure, was not seen getting on the bus to Birmingham with the other members of his team. Around 11:30 AM local time, the Indian team left Leeds by bus, and it should be in Birmingham in a little more than three hours.
The players will take the next two days off before starting training again in preparation for the second Test, where they want to even the series and move past Headingley’s setback.
“I haven’t spoken to the chairman selector; I will speak to the chairman of selectors because there was a bit of a niggle in the group. That is why we wanted him as a backup,” Gambhir had said on Rana following India’s defeat in the first Test.
