Actor Srikanth To File Bail Plea After Arrest In Drug Case
As reported by ANI, during the questioning, police found evidence allegedly linking actor Srikanth to the drug network. Officials said he was taken to a magistrate’s residence, where he was presented in connection with the case. Following the hearing, Srikanth was sent to judicial custody until July 7.
The Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Unit (ANIU) of the Chennai Police questioned the actor, and medical tests conducted at Kilpauk Government Hospital reportedly confirmed drug consumption. This led to his arrest under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. According to a News18 Tamil report, police are also probing whether Srikanth purchased one gram of cocaine for Rs 12,000.

Srikanth, whose full name is Krishnamachari Srikanth, was born on February 28, 1979. He is a well-known actor in South Indian cinema, particularly in Tamil and Telugu films. He was born in Chennai to a Telugu father and a Tamil mother and spent some of his early years growing up in Hyderabad.
He went on to appear in popular Tamil films such as April Maadhathil, Manasellam, and Parthiban Kanavu—the latter earning him a Special Prize at the Tamil Nadu State Film Awards. In the Telugu film industry, he is known by the screen name ‘Sriram’ and has taken on roles in a wide range of genres.
Srikanth married Vandana in 2008, and the couple has two children. Some of his notable films include Manasellam, Varnajalam, Kana Kandein, Oru Naal Kanavu, Bambara Kannale, Mercury Pookkal, East Coast Road, Poo, Sathurangam, and Nanban.
