A brush fire broke out near the 14000 block of Hawick Drive in Lakeside, California, on Thursday, prompting evacuation orders for nearby areas.
According to the officials, the fire has burned about 5 acres and is moving quickly to the northeast. Firefighters are on the scene working to contain the flames.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department has issued mandatory evacuation orders for areas marked in red on the zone map. This includes zone SDC-1687 and surrounding neighborhoods.
Evacuation warnings are also in place for zones marked in yellow, including SDC-1688, SDC-1689, and SDC-1776, advising residents to be ready to leave if conditions worsen.
