With the NBA draft right around the corner, now is the time to look at some past drafts and see what the Philadelphia 76ers have done in their history. The Sixers have selected some big-time players in the past who have become an important part of the fabric of the franchise’s history.
This next edition remains in the 2017 draft as the Sixers made another selection at No. 36 overall in Round 2. Philadelphia selected Jonah Bolden out of UCLA who offered up a stretch-4 ability, but wasn’t able to have his skills translate to the league.
Bolden made his NBA debut in the 2018-19 season as he played in 44 games–with 10 starts–and averaged 4.7 points and 3.8 rebounds while shooting 35.4% from deep. The Sixers were hoping for more from him, but it never worked out and he was waived in February of the 2019-20 season.
Overall, Bolden played 48 games for the Sixers across two seasons before being waived. The Phoenix Suns then picked him up, and he played three games for them, which were the last three of his NBA career.
