The Buffalo Bills are gearing up for their final preseason contest in 2025 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
With it being the last exhibition game this summer, insight into both rosters heading into the upcoming season is going to be provide. Jobs are certainly on the line.
With that, here are Bills Wire’s five players to watch for during the preseason finale against the Bucs:
QB Mitch Trubisky
To this point, the QB2 battle seems all but wrapped up and Trubisky is the likely No. 2 over Mike White after starter Josh Allen.
First, that’s not by a mile so Trubisky will want to have a good game. Having said that, Trubisky is going to be one snap away during the regular season… so get a good look at your backup, Buffalo.
WR Curtis Samuel
Samuel has been a non-factor this preseason and injury has not helped. But the Bills have to eat some dead cap money toward their salary cap ($3 million) if Samuel is cut. Samuel just returned from injury this week and caught some praise from head coach Sean McDermott his week.
A few plays would help his cause a lot.
WR Tyrell Shavers
Shavers has been this summer’s “training camp darling” that everyone is rooting for. Can he snag a depth receiver spot on the 53-man roster?
CB Dane Jackson
Jackson returned to Buffalo this offseason via free agency but has not made many waves this summer. With the injuries to first-round rookie Maxwell Hairston and veteran Tre’Davious White, Jackson could still land a depth spot if he plays well against the Bucs.
LB Joe Andreessen
The local in Andreessen will likely make the roster but will still play against the Bucs. The linebacker’s play so far has been pretty obvious. He looks better against the run so this is another chance for him to improve his pass defending.
